Write a Must-Read: Craft a Book That Changes Lives - Including Your Own

A book is not about something. A book is for someone.

You want to write a nonfiction book that matters. A book readers love and rave about. A book they underline, dog-ear, and highlight. A
must-read.

How do you do that, when you’ve never written a book like that before? When you aren’t sure what content to include in a nonfiction book, or how to organize it? And when you’re not sure if your idea is worth pursuing in the first place?

At the heart of the answers to all these questions is a craft created by AJ Harper, ghostwriter and editor for some of the foremost thought leaders of our time. The foundation of that craft is a simple, yet powerful philosophy: Reader First. When you learn how to put your reader first at every stage of book development, writing, and editing, you can create the connection and trust required to transform their lives.

In these pages, Harper reveals the proven methods and frameworks she has used for nearly two decades to write and edit perennial bestsellers. It’s not the easy way, or the fast way; it’s the
effective way. The payoff for doing this important work: a must-read book, and a massive readership who serve as ambassadors for your message and your brand.

Uniquely Positioned to Guide Authors from Ideation, Development, to Publishing and Beyond

AJ has spent decades in publishing - in almost every nook and cranny.

As co-founder and senior editor for a small, award-wining LGBTQ-focused press, Harper acquired and edited scores of novels that helped change the publishing landscape for LGBTQ fiction and launched the careers of several bestselling Young Adult authors. She is a steadfast advocate for representation in literature. Harper and her fellow-founders sold the company to Chicago Review Press in 2021.

The Lead Writing Faculty for Heroic Public Speaking, Harper helped develop their Speech Writing and Book Writing Mastery programs. She was part of the coach team for TEDx Cambridge, one of the longest-running and largest TED events in the world. She has coached renowned economic research scientists from Harvard, Yale, MIT and the World Economic Forum, and has helped create keynotes for bestselling authors, award-winning thought leaders, and inspired agents of change.

Harper is writing partner to business author, Mike Michalowicz. Together they’ve written over ten books, including  Profit First,  Clockwork, and All In (2023). They co-host the popular podcast, Don’t Write That Book, where they share insights into what it takes to write a must-read, game-changing book in weekly episodes. She is the author of Write a Must-Read: Craft a Book That Changes Lives—Including Your Own.

Writing can be lonely... It isn't in my author community.

I pride myself on creating a safe, nurturing space where your creativity can shine. In my programs, you'll get the education you need to write the book you've dreamed of, the book that your reader can't help but dog ear, pass around, and tell others they simply must read it.

You'll find yourself in a warm community of authors who understand what it takes to write a book that has the power to create change.

In Top Three, we don't hope to change the world, we show up and put in the work because we know we can with the books we set out to write.

I'll show you how.
